The role
The Risk & Resilience Lead is responsible for leading the continuous development and improvement of risk maturity across the organisation.
They will develop, implement and manage an integrated risk management system and lead an effective organisational risk culture.
The role is also responsible for the management of physical security infrastructure and the management of our insurance policies and claims, as well as business continuity and developing, implementing and monitoring emergency planning and preparedness, response and recovery systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and improve enterprise risk management, emergency management business continuity, security and insurance programs.
* Deliver strategic and operational risk initiatives that support informed decision‑making across the organisation.
* Coordinate emergency preparedness, response recover activities, exercises and training to strengthen organisational resilience.
* Maintain critical emergency roles on‑call rosters and fire warden capability.
* Ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory and critical infrastructure security requirements.
* Provide expert advice and reporting to senior leaders, the Board and key governance committees.
* Represent Gippsland Water in regional emergency management and industry forums.
What you’ll bring
* Tertiary qualification in a discipline such as risk management or business management.
* Demonstrated experience leading and coordinating a small team.
* Strong experience in risk management, emergency management and regulatory compliance.
* Sound understanding of Victorian emergency management arrangements and legislation.
* The ability to engage, influence and build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
* Exceptional communication, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
