The Employer:
Join a family-owned and operated cropping business located near Nyngan, NSW. This operation has recently expanded by purchasing a neighbouring property, creating the need for an Assistant Farm Manager. The business encompasses 22,000 acres across two properties, along with an additional 6,000-acre lease block within 50 kilometres. The operation features a strong dryland cropping and hay program that spans 17,000 acres, producing high-quality Oaten Hay, Wheat, and Barley.
While this role primarily focuses on cropping and developing new country, assisting with the business's small cattle enterprise will also be required during key annual events.
The team includes three dedicated staff members. All machinery is modest yet well-maintained, featuring reliable and efficient equipment such as a D8 Dozer, wheel loader, grader, two nitro sprayers, various tractors, ploughs, disc chains, hay equipment, air seeders and headers.
The Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced candidate to step into an assistant management position within the expanding operation. Your responsibilities will encompass machinery operation, managing staff, generalised cropping agronomy, maintaining equipment, and controlling fertiliser and seed applications.
Experience in all aspects of dryland cropping is essential, and a mechanical background will be considered a significant advantage.
