Flight Training Adelaide Queensland (FTAQ) has partnered with Qantas Group to provide a professional flight training facility for airline pilots. We provide three buffet style meals per day, plus snacks for 365 days per year to 200 students who live on campus. We have a purpose built dining hall and modern catering facility. We also cater for company special events and student graduations, which enables our team to showcase their talents and flair.
FTAQ is looking to recruit a Full Time Qualified Chef who can work as part of a small team.
The chosen candidate will be able to:
* Prepare and cook dishes of all types, from starters through to desserts;
* Be responsible for both flavour and presentation of food;
* Manage food stocks including ordering, deliveries and storage;
* Be responsible for food safety and maintaining high standards of hygiene in the kitchen;
* Help to coordinate all graduation ceremonies and special functions held by FTAQ on campus;
* Must be able to work a 365 days a year rotating roster which includes early morning starts, late finishes and working public holidays as required due to operational needs.
Essential qualifications and experience - CHEF
1. Australian Qualification in Commercial Cookery coupled with two years' experience
2. Excellent knowledge of safe food handling practices
3. Good customer services skills
4. Ability to cope under pressure
5. Well-developed communication skills
6. A polite, professional and helpful approach
7. Sound leadership and conflict resolution skills
8. Current First Aid Certificate (including asthma and anaphylactic training) and resuscitation certificate.
9. Excellent communication skills, competency in both verbal and written English is essential.
10. Physical demand:
11. The ability to lift 2/10/15 kg regularly
12. The ability to respond quickly to sounds
13. The ability to wear personal protective equipment correctly most of the day
As part of the recruitment process for FTAQ you are required to supply the below:
* Australia National Police Check
* Pre-Employment Drug and Alcohol Test
Location
There is no scheduled bus service to the FTAQ campus and only a limited bus service that stops at Wellcamp Airport. The location of FTAQ campus from Wellcamp Airport is 3.7 km if walking. Free parking is available on campus, near workplace, therefore, this role will suit someone who has access to private transport due to limited access of public transport.
