Why this role matters
The Karratha Women's Refuge operates within the Western Australian Division of The Salvation Army (TSA). The Salvation Army Karratha Women's Refuge provides short-term crisis accommodation for women with or without children escaping Family & Domestic Violence and other crises.
About The Role
We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Family Support Worker. Reporting to the Team Leader/Manager, this casual role is based in Karratha, WA. We have multiple positions available across morning, afternoon, and night shifts.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS award level 3.
You will successfully
* Provide clients with a welcoming and responsive initial contact, addressing urgent and immediate needs.
* Consult with senior staff to take appropriate preventative action in potential high-risk situations.
* Establish effective relationships with clients that encourage self-determination and participation, supporting them to improve their situation.
* Support clients to implement case plans in line with TSA case management models and standards of practice.
* Encourage clients to engage actively in the implementation of their case plans.
* Assist clients to access support services.
* Monitor activities and communicate clearly with relevant staff for handovers.
You will have
* Associate diploma with relevant experience; or relevant certificate with experience; or equivalent expertise through previous appointments, services, or study.
* Relevant experience with family & domestic violence and homelessness.
* Current WA Driver’s license.
* Current First Aid Certificate with CPR.
* Working with Children’s Check.
