Job Description - Heavy Diesel Mechanic - Leading Hand (266652)# | | || --- | --- || Heavy Diesel Mechanic - Leading Hand-266652 UGL is an employer with a difference, jump on board and experience our incredible journey! **The Project** UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the ~140km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project. HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia's eastern states. HumeLink is one of Australia's largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure. The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.4bn, includes delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning ~140kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0. **We are looking for a Leading Hand - Heavy Diesel/Plant Mechanic to join our Plant and Equipment Team in Wagga Wagga, NSW. The role will be to support our workshop supervisors, coordinate day to day tasks, provide hands on diagnostics, servicing and repairs on heavy vehicles and mobile plant.** **Qualifications And Experience Required:** * Trade Qualification - essential * Current Construction Whitecard * Drivers Licence * Experience working on similar construction based projects * Demonstrated experience repairing and maintaining heavy vehicles, earthmoving equipment, or mobile plant. * Strong diagnostic and fault finding skills * Excellent communication and team leadership abilities * Previous experience in a Leading Hand or senior technician role. * Sound understanding of WHS practices and risk management.
