Pezzano Enterprises Pty Ltd Retail Buyer (ANZSCO: 639211 – Retail Buyer). Full-time/Permanent $76,000 - $80,000 (salary will be commensurate to qualifications and experience).
Retail Buyer – Responsibilities
* Analyse historical sales data and seasonal buying patterns to forecast demand across fruit, vegetable and meat product categories.
* Monitor wholesale market trends, grower supply conditions and competitor pricing to inform procurement strategies.
* Source new suppliers including growers, produce markets and meat processors to ensure supply continuity and competitive pricing.
* Liaise with existing suppliers and negotiate pricing, supply contracts, delivery schedules and trading terms.
* Manage stock levels using inventory management systems, establishing reorder points and optimal stock holding levels.
* Recommend promotional pricing, clearance strategies and adjusted purchasing volumes to control stock turnover and minimise spoilage.
* Review key performance indicators including gross margins, stock turnover ratios, wastage levels and discount performance.
* Participate in seasonal promotions and coordinate purchasing decisions with marketing campaigns and sales initiatives.
* Collaborate with warehouse management to optimise product flow and storage allocation for high-volume lines.
* Monitor competitor activities including catalogues, digital advertising and wholesale price movements.
* Prepare purchasing reports, sales forecasts and budget projections for senior management review.
* Maintain strong professional relationships with suppliers, transport providers and key stakeholders within the supply chain.
Retail Buyer – Qualifications and Experience
* Relevant AQF Cert III including 2 years of on-the-job experience or Cert IV
* A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience may replace the requirement of having a qualification.
* Applicants with qualifications must demonstrate 1 years of relevant experience
Procurement Manager
(ANZSCO: 133612 - Procurement Manager). Full-time / Permanent $100,000 – $120,000 per annum (higher salary will be considered commensurate to qualifications and experience).
Procurement Manager – Responsibilities
* Develop, implement and continuously refine procurement strategies aligned with Pezzano Enterprises' wholesale food distribution and logistics operations.
* Source, assess and appoint reliable suppliers including growers, meat processors, FMCG wholesalers and transport service providers to ensure continuity of supply.
* Negotiate supply contracts and commercial agreements to secure competitive pricing, favourable credit terms, quality standards and delivery schedules.
* Review and manage existing supplier agreements to ensure ongoing commercial viability, compliance with food safety standards and performance benchmarks.
* Establish and maintain strong long-term relationships with key suppliers and service providers to support stable and scalable operations.
* Approve purchase orders and oversee procurement workflows to ensure timely acquisition and delivery of goods and services.
* Conduct risk assessments on supplier contracts, pricing fluctuations and supply chain disruptions to minimise operational exposure.
* Monitor procurement budgets, track expenditure and implement cost-control measures to maintain margin targets.
* Oversee procurement and inventory systems to track stock levels, shipments, supplier performance metrics and lead times.
* Analyse market trends, seasonal supply conditions and pricing movements within the fresh produce and meat sectors to inform purchasing decisions.
* Prepare comprehensive procurement reports detailing expenditure analysis, supplier performance reviews and cost-efficiency outcomes for senior management.
* Collaborate with warehouse, logistics and sales teams to align procurement activities with demand forecasts and operational requirements.
Procurement Manager – Qualifications and Experience
* Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Business, Management, Leadership or related discipline required.
* Minimum 1-year relevant procurement or supply chain management experience essential.
* Strong negotiation, analytical and stakeholder management skills required.
