Event-Driven Application Specialist
Orkes is a platform designed for developers to build robust, scalable event-driven applications. Based on the popular open-source orchestration engine Conductor, Orkes enables developers to focus on faster go-to-market strategies without worrying about application failures or visibility into execution.
We are seeking an accomplished and driven specialist to join our team. Working with a talented and agile team, you will have the opportunity to grow and make an impact. In this role, you will be responsible for creating the strategy for and a pipeline of qualified leads for our cloud-based services, with an emphasis on working with existing customers and closing business to meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales goals.
Your day-to-day at Orkes will involve:
* Identifying and qualifying new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and cold outreach
* Ongoing prospecting and lead generation across your assigned territory accounts to build a favorable pipeline gap of 3:2:2
* Developing and executing strategic plans to target mid-market accounts
* Forecasting accurately and maintaining favorable coverage across commit, best-case, and most-likely scenarios for the current quarter
* Focusing on compressing sales cycles and obtaining early verbal commitments from customers
* Working with revenue leadership to move deals from verbal to close within the forecast
* Tracking daily sales activities and maintaining CRM hygiene by accurately capturing required details in our CRM system
* Consistently following MEDDPICC across opportunities and developing close plans for opportunities within the current quarter forecast
* Executing sales plays defined by our leadership team to develop customer opportunities
* Staying informed about market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to inform sales strategies and tactics
Requirements and Qualifications
* You are a fanatical prospector who obsesses over building your pipeline
* Experience in Sales and/or Business Development roles within high-growth organizations, preferably with startups that achieved growth across their open-source install base
* Experience working successfully across the spectrum of sales (strategy, lead generation, business closing, relationship nurturing)
* Outstanding communication skills, including phone and written communication, as well as active listening
* A self-starter with a record of overachieving against quota, along with an incredibly high activity rate and constant obsession with attaining monthly and quarterly budgets
* Rigorous Sales Methodology and Sales Process knowledge, proven by accurate forecasts and clear communication throughout the deal cycle
* Experience selling to developers and engineering leadership
