The role
You'll be hands-on across prep and service - helping drive consistency, quality and pace. You'll lead from the front, coach the team, and keep the fundamentals tight: mise en place, cleanliness, section readiness and smooth communication.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations and service leadership
* Run sections during service and confidently lead the pass when required
* Train, coach and develop junior chefs and kitchen hands
* Maintain food quality, portioning and presentation standards
* Ensure HACCP/food safety compliance and high kitchen cleanliness standards
* Assist with ordering, stock control, waste reduction and daily prep planning
* Help deliver smooth openings/closings and strong checklist culture
About you
* Proven experience as a Sous Chef
* Calm under pressure with excellent service leadership and communication
* Strong prep discipline and a standards-first mindset
* Team-focused -firm, fair, and invested in developing others
* Great organisation: rosters, ordering, stock, cleanliness and timing are second nature
