Financial Standard seeks a Journalist to produce daily news articles and in-depth features covering financial services for online, print, and multimedia platforms.
Your Role
Key responsibilities include:
* Generating two to four news articles daily for the online masthead
* Writing in-depth and investigative feature articles for the print newspaper on a rotating roster
* Producing mini-features or conference coverage as assigned by the managing editor
* Approving and editing content for an annual journal and weekly/monthly online publications
* Attending industry conferences and events, including some domestic travel
* Assisting the editor with multimedia content such as podcasts and video opportunities
* Liaising with editorial, research, and client services teams
* Adhering to strict deadlines with tight turnaround times
About You
The company is looking for:
* Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, media studies, or similar
* 1-2 years' experience in financial journalism, preferably digital media; new graduates are welcome
* Outstanding written and oral communication skills and strong networking capabilities
* Genuine interest in or knowledge of Australia's financial services industry
* Excellent organizational and time management skills
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word
* Strong attention to detail
* Ability to provide writing samples upon request
