Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Graduate Accountant to join our Finance team at our Maroochydore Head Office, within a globally growing hotel group - Minor Hotels. This role is ideal for someone who has recently completed or is currently completing their degree. The position can start part-time to accommodate ongoing studies and transition to full-time, offering a seamless opportunity for long-term career growth within a recognized organization.
As a Graduate Accountant, you will support daily accounting activities within the Finance department and provide administrative support to the Finance Shared Services team. This role offers a great start in the hospitality industry, working in a dynamic international environment with potential for professional development.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Assisting with monthly Profit & Loss reporting for a portfolio of properties
* Preparing end-of-month journals including accruals, revenue, and reclasses
* Expense allocations across the group
* Balance Sheet Reconciliation
* Bank reconciliations
* Accounts Receivable receipting
* Handling Finance Help Desk queries
* Supporting properties with finance-related questions
* Reviewing reports from Property Management System for errors before EOM
Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Accounting or Certificate IV in Bookkeeping, or working towards it
* Prior admin, hospitality, or customer service experience is preferred
* Exceptional attention to detail
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Effective planning and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks under pressure
* Ability to handle confidential information maturely
* Solid data entry skills
