As a pivotal member of the global Discrete Manufacturing Leadership team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient production of electronic blasting systems, vital for heavy infrastructure and mining projects in Australia and beyond.This senior leadership position offers a unique opportunity to make a substantial impact in a challenging and rewarding industry, at Orica's iconic global manufacturing site.What you will be doingSafety is Our Priority, Always: Cultivate a safety-first culture, ensuring all manufacturing activities adhere to the highest safety standards.Operational Excellence: Oversee and optimize manufacturing operations, ensuring quality and production targets are met.Team Leadership: Lead the development of the onsite team of 150+, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations.Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives for operational efficiency and sustainability.What you will bringSafety Leadership: Proven ability to prioritize and champion a safety culture, adhering to protocols and standards.Operational Excellence: Strong background in managing manufacturing, process optimization, and meeting production goals.Leadership and Team Management: 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, ideally within chemical manufacturing.Regulatory Compliance: Profound knowledge of relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations, with a track record of ensuring compliance.Financial Acumen: Proficiency in budget management, cost control, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.Continuous Improvement: Demonstrated experience driving operational efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives.Stakeholder Engagement: Strong interpersonal and communication skills for building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Strategic Thinking: Ability to contribute to the long-term strategic plan and execute it effectively.Community Engagement & Sustainability: Proficient in community engagement and corporate social responsibility, dedicated to integrating sustainability principles into operations.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Chemistry; a master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.What we offerAs part of a truly global company, you will have the ability to grow and learn in a diverse, collaborative culture.
