This is a great opportunity for an Electrical Engineering Technician to join a highly motivated customer-focused team in Carrum Downs. This position will be located with our major clients on a full-time basis in the food and manufacturing industry predominantly in South Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne.
Responsibilities
- Prepare technical reports and client correspondences/presentations to project stakeholders.
- Review and prepare detailed specifications and contract documents for procurement of major electrical and controls equipment as well as construction document packages.
- Actively involved and responsible for the installation and commissioning of automation work packages for specific capital projects.
- Design drawings for the construction of the physical components of electrical and automation systems including, but not limited to: Single Line Diagrams, Motor Control Schematics/specifications, Control panel layout & design; Electrical power distribution systems design and specification; I/O wiring; Loop drawings; Network system design.
- Human Machine interface programming and specification with exposure to brands such as Citect, Panel View and WinCC. Robotics programming of ABB robots is looked upon favourably. Experience with efficient alarm design and fault-finding guides.
- Programming of PLCs and user interfaces – Experience in automation interfacing and protocols such as Profibus & Profinet. Hands-on programming experience, including specification and design on major PLC brands, such as Siemens, Schneider & Allen Bradley.
- Create project technical performance specifications and functional descriptions. Selects the appropriate technology for projects (PLC, Drive, Instruments, Sensors, Valves, Actuators, MCC, Motors, Robots, etc.) and ensures that they are fully compatible.
- Willingness to travel and undertake site work is essential in various fields. Flexibility to adapt to working across a variety of engineering and maintenance projects.
- Actively involved in and responsible for the installation and commissioning of automation work packages for specific capital projects.
- Unrestricted Driver\'s Licence
Qualifications and skills
- Preferred experience in Controls/Automation engineering
- Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills
- An ability to effectively communicate with a broad range of stakeholders including attending meetings, improvement sessions and reporting to management.
- A committed approach to delivering high-quality and timely outcomes.
- Willingness to travel and undertake site work is essential in various fields. (Repeated/ensured in responsibilities)
- Flexibility to adapt to working across a variety of engineering and maintenance projects.
- An eagerness to train and support others in a team environment.
