We provide technical services to the Australian energy and resources sector with specific experience in the Minerals and Mining, Oil and Gas, Infrastructure, and Power Generation Industries.About the RoleWe are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Employee Relations / Industrial Relations (ER/IR) Manager to join our team on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract to cover parental leave.Reporting directly to the Executive General Manager, you will lead our dynamic HR Operations team and play a pivotal role in delivering both operational and strategic people initiatives that support the growth and transformation of our business.Key ResponsibilitiesLead HR Operations, including ER/IR, Business Partnering, Organisational Development, L&D, and Remuneration & Benefits.Mentor and manage a high-performing HR/ER team, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.Provide expert advice on awards, legislation, enterprise agreements, and workplace relations.Develop and implement strategies that promote a high-performance, inclusive, and values-driven culture.Support leaders with performance management, workplace investigations, and the resolution of complex cases.Lead the negotiation and management of Enterprise Agreements.Utilise your ER/IR expertise to maintain positive employee relations and effectively resolve conflicts.Manage conciliation, mediation, and investigations of employment disputes, including appearances at the Fair Work Commission.Drive organisational development, capability building, and change initiatives.Provide HR support on tenders and strategic business projects.Deliver scheduled HR activities including performance reviews, talent identification, and succession planning cycles.Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across the business.What You'll BringTertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, or a related field.Extensive HR/ER/IR experience within the resources sector—particularly in Engineering, SMP, and Electrical Construction environments with hands-on experience in a blue-collar workforce.In-depth knowledge of employment legislation (NES, FWA 2009, Modern Awards), particularly the Building and Construction Award.Proven capability in managing complex HR cases, investigations, and workplace disputes.Experience in a site-based FIFO environment (preferred).Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.Why Join Us?Work alongside a supportive and experienced leadership team.Be part of an organisation that values innovation, integrity, and people-first leadership.Contribute to impactful, business-critical HR initiatives.Enjoy free onsite parking at our Applecross Head Office.Receive a paid day off for your birthday.Are you a driven HR leader with a passion for shaping culture and delivering strategic impact through people?
