SGAC at West HQ is on the lookout for a dedicated **Aquatic Programs Officer** to join our team in a **part-time** capacity. If you’re all about professionalism, teamwork, and creating a fun, but results driven, work environment, we want to hear from YOU! 
**About the role**: 
As an **Aquatic Programs Officer (APO)**, you’ll play a key role in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of SGAC’s aquatic programs. Reporting to the Aquatic Programs Manager, you’ll be hands-on with program coordination and data-driven decision-making — from managing class schedules and shift coverage to supporting waitlist administration and program retention initiatives. 
This role also acts as a vital link between departments, fostering strong internal relationships to ensure programs run smoothly and continue to grow in quality and engagement. You’ll step up during operational periods as a point of escalation and perform supervisory or Learn to Swim duties as required — always with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service and upholding the department’s values. 
**About you**: 
You’re a natural organiser with a passion for aquatics and a flair for teamwork. You thrive in fast-paced environments and have a keen eye for detail when it comes to administration and program improvement. You’re confident taking initiative, communicating clearly, and problem-solving in the moment. 
Ideally, you have: 
- Experience working within aquatic programs or a similar recreational environment 
- Strong administrative and scheduling skills 
- The ability to build collaborative relationships across departments 
- A customer-first mindset and a proactive approach to service 
**What do you need to be considered?** 
- Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (AUSTSWIM ) 
- Working with Children Check (18+) 
- Current First Aid Certificate and CPR 
- Demonstrated experience in teaching swimming and water safety 
- Minimum 2 years of swimming and water safety instruction 
- Minimum 2 years of administrative experience 
- Experience with Program Supervision and student assessments (Desirable) 
- Experience with using Customer Retention Management (CRM) Systems (Xplor Recreation Desirable) 
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Teams
