KingKids Berwick is a true home away from home. Our kitchen sits at the heart of the service and in the hearts of our children, families, and team. We are seeking a warm, reliable, and passionate Cook to join us in a maternity leave position starting 19 January 2026.
This role is about more than meals. It is about nurturing children through food that is fresh, nutritious, and thoughtfully prepared for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years.
About the Role
As our Cook and Food Safety Supervisor, you will be responsible for:
* Preparing daily meals and snacks in line with nutritional guidelines
* Planning and rotating menus that children enjoy and families trust
* Managing food ordering and stock rotation
* Catering and management of allergies, medical needs, and cultural preferences
* Supporting celebrations and special events
* Maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant kitchen environment
Hours and Term
This is a part-time maternity leave position commencing 19 January 2026. Hours will be discussed with the successful applicant.
What We're Looking For
You will bring:
* A current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
* Experience managing food allergies and dietary requirements
* Strong communication skills
* A valid Working with Children Check and Police Check
* A genuine love of cooking for children
* A calm, organised, and team-focused approach
Experience in early childhood settings or a Certificate III in Children's Services is welcomed but not essential.
