About the Role
Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) is seeking an experienced and passionate Podiatrist to work in our dynamic, growing and supportive team. This senior role offers a unique opportunity to lead and shape specialist podiatry services while delivering exceptional outcomes for patients with complex high-risk foot and ankle conditions.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Podiatry NALHN, you will be responsible for the development, planning, coordination, delivery and evaluation of high-quality podiatry services across the High Risk Foot Orthopaedic Service. Your expertise will be central to ensuring evidence-based, patient-centred care that optimises functional outcomes and supports limb preservation within the NALHN community.
Working collaboratively with podiatry colleagues and key partners—including the Interdisciplinary Diabetes Foot Service, Foot and Ankle Orthopaedic Surgeons, and a broad multidisciplinary team—you will play a pivotal role in delivering coordinated and specialised care. You will actively engage patients in their treatment planning and decision-making, ensuring care is personalized, holistic and aligned with best-practice guidelines.
As a highly skilled clinician and senior leader, you will provide clinical leadership within the High Risk Foot Orthopaedic Service, including supervision, mentoring and support of less experienced staff. The role involves direct clinical work within the High-Risk Foot Service, case management of complex presentations, service development and continuous quality improvement.
Please note: availability to work on Thursdays is essential to support foot clinic operations and service delivery.
To be eligible for this position, you must hold an appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as a Podiatrist with the Podiatry Board of Australia.
About You
In this senior role, you will bring advanced clinical expertise in podiatry assessment and treatment, with extensive experience in the management of high-risk and complex orthopaedic foot and ankle conditions, including limb salvage. You will demonstrate strong leadership capability, including staff supervision, clinical governance, service development and program evaluation. Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation and consultation skills will support effective collaboration. You will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce accurate clinical documentation, reports and data in a timely manner. Your experience will include working closely with multidisciplinary teams, contributing to policy and procedure development, and delivering care aligned with National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards. Flexibility, resilience and the ability to manage competing priorities within a complex clinical environment will underpin your success in this senior role.
