About the Role
As a Kitchen Steward at QT Canberra, you'll play a vital role in supporting our culinary team and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and efficiency in the kitchen. Reporting to the Executive Chef, you'll be hands-on in a fast-paced environment—taking on a variety of cleaning duties, assisting with kitchen prep, and ensuring WH&S standards are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
* Support daily kitchen operations by completing tasks assigned by the Executive Chef in a timely and efficient manner
* Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment in line with food safety and OH&S standards
* Participate in all training sessions to develop skills and grow within the culinary team
* Minimise waste through careful handling of food and resources
* Foster positive working relationships with kitchen and service team members
* Follow all hotel policies, procedures, and grooming standards while maintaining a professional appearance
Skills & Experience
* Experience working as a kitchen steward in a fast-paced hotel, pub, restaurant or café.
* A good attitude, communication and happy to support the kitchen with a variety of duties.
* Flexible with hours and adaptable to working in different areas of the hotel when required.
* This is a manual role which will require, lifting, standing and cleaning.
