The Role

The Project Engineer supports clients transitioning to low-emissions transport by delivering tailored EV charging solutions. You'll run site assessments, develop technical briefs and cost estimates, and oversee the supply and installation of EV charging systems—working closely with customers, contractors, and internal teams to deliver safe, on-time, high-quality outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing
* Deliver projects end-to-end: manage 3–5 small to medium projects concurrently, with clear ownership of schedule, budget, scope, and quality.
* Lead site assessment and estimation: produce technical assessments (system overview, electrical design brief, network integration brief, implementation consulting report) and cost estimates.
* Produce client-ready documentation: provide layouts, drawings, and cost assessments within agreed timeframe.
* Coordinate installation delivery: manage subcontractors to meet project requirements and complete end-of-project subcontractor assessments.
* Own customer responsiveness: respond to enquiries within the agreed timeframe; prepare and submit variations within the agreed timeframe.
* Provide engineering support: deliver technical advice and solution design support to customers, contractors, and colleagues as needed.
* Support business development: respond to requests for support/information within 2 days.
* Set the safety standard: follow safe work practices, intervene on unsafe acts, report hazards/incidents immediately, and ensure contractor safety systems are in place.
What You'll Bring
* Proven experience in electrical site assessment and estimation, delivering accurate evaluations and costings to tight timeframes.
* Strong understanding of electrical infrastructure, standards, and regulatory requirements, with a safety-first approach.
* Strong customer focus: responsive communication, expectation management, and relationship skills.
* High organisational capability to manage multiple projects concurrently with attention to detail and deadlines.
* Engineering design capability: technical briefs, electrical designs (including third-party sign-off coordination), and integration solutions for EV charging infrastructure.
* Proficiency with relevant design, estimation, and project management tools.
