About this role
We are seeking an experienced Drilling Manager to lead drilling operations on site, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. The successful candidate will supervise drilling crews, coordinate logistics, and liaise closely with project managers and engineers to deliver accurate subsurface data for environmental and construction projects.
Key responsibilities
* Lead and supervise drilling teams to ensure safe and efficient operations
* Plan and organise drilling activities, equipment, and site logistics
* Conduct drilling tasks including soil sampling, core drilling, and borehole installation
* Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations
* Maintain and service drilling rigs and related equipment
* Interpret drilling data and prepare site documentation and reports
* Communicate effectively with clients, engineers, and site personnel
Required skills & qualifications
* Minimum 5 years' experience in geotechnical or environmental drilling
* Proven leadership and team management skills
* Strong understanding of drilling techniques and equipment maintenance
* Valid White Card (Construction Induction) and relevant drilling certifications
* Ability to read and interpret drilling logs and geotechnical reports
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
* Physically fit and able to work in outdoor and challenging conditions
