About The Team
You will join a tight knit and highly collegiate Knowledge team of 3 people who provide legal research and knowledge management support to the firm nationally. In a newly created role, you will join the team during an exciting time of growth and work in a fast‐paced environment.
About The Role
We're seeking a Knowledge Lawyer to join our team. This role supports the firm's national Insurance and Family Law practices by providing legal research, knowledge management, current awareness, and capability development services. The role contributes to the effective use of legal research platforms and AI‐enabled tools and supports the firm's broader knowledge, innovation, and business services objectives.
Responsibilities Of This Role Will Include
* Providing high-quality and timely legal research assistance to lawyers within the Insurance practice and as required, across the firm;
* Developing, maintaining, and enhancing precedents, know‐how, and practice materials relevant to the national practice;
* Identifying emerging legal issues, trends, and risks relevant to clients and practice groups;
* Monitoring legislative, regulatory, and case law developments relevant to national practice areas;
* Delivering training and one‐on‐one support to lawyers and business services staff on legal research platforms and knowledge systems; and
* Contributing to firm‐wide knowledge initiatives and projects as required.
About You
We're seeking someone with the following:
* Admitted legal practitioner (Australia or equivalent);
* Experience working in an Insurance practice within a law firm or closely related area;
* Demonstrated experience or interest in knowledge management, legal research, innovation, or legal technology; and
* Experience with AI tools used for drafting, review, research, and knowledge management in professional services environments is desirable.
