About the Role
As an Import Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in managing import shipments, ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining strong relationships with customers, carriers and stakeholders.
* Coordinate the end-to-end import process, including booking shipments, tracking cargo and ensuring timely delivery.
* Liaise with clients, shipping lines and customs agents to ensure seamless communication and operations.
* Prepare and process import documentation in compliance with customs regulations.
* Monitor and manage shipment schedules to meet deadlines and client expectations.
* Address and resolve any operational issues or delays that may arise.
* Maintain accurate records and update systems to reflect shipment statuses.
What We're Looking For
A background in freight forwarding or import operations would be highly desirable. You should have a strong understanding of customs clearance processes and international shipping regulations. Organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks are essential. Strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain client relationships are also crucial.
