About The Opportunity
Are you passionate about medical education and supporting the well-being of doctors in training?

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Education & Medical Administration Coordinator to join our dynamic Mental Health Medical Services team across Mental Health Service, South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD).

In this rewarding position, you will play a vital role in coordinating Psychiatry education programs and supporting the operational and administrative functions of the SWSLHD Mental Health medical workforce. This includes supporting junior and senior medical staff, managing RUM rosters, Junior Medical Officer Awards, liaising with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) and ensuring high-quality education experience for our doctors-in-training and workforce planning initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing
To support the training and pastoral needs of Psychiatry Trainees in Mental Health Service, South Western Sydney Local Health District in collaboration with the Director of Medical Services, Network Director of Training, Site Coordinators of Training, Medical Administration Services Team and trainee supervisors. This position would also be required to ensure compliance with AHPRA notifications and medical administration tasks required by the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS). To also support with Senior Medical Officer recruitment within the Medical Administration Services Mental Health Team.

SWSLHD Inpatient Mental Health Services provide comprehensive care across several facilities, including the newly redeveloped Campbelltown Hospital and Liverpool Hospital. These services offer a safe and therapeutic environment for individuals with acute and non-acute mental health needs.

The multidisciplinary teams, consisting of professionals with diverse mental health expertise, deliver exceptional care through specialised units such as the Mental Health Intensive Care Unit, Adult Acute Unit, and Older People's Mental Health Unit. The service is committed to patient safety and high-quality care, maintaining external accreditation with the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards.

* Relevant qualifications (business, health management, human resources management or other relevant discipline); or equivalent work experience, or a combination of both.
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of medical staff structures within a public hospital with the ability to liaise with a diverse range of people whilst maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion.
* Significant demonstrated knowledge and understanding of junior and senior medical selection and appointments systems and processes.
* Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
* Demonstrated ability to analyse and prepare complex correspondence, briefs, reports, charts, tables and other documentation.
* Demonstrated negotiation and time management skills, and the ability to prioritise workflow, and escalate issues appropriately when required.
* Demonstrated high level computer skills, proficiency in the use of Microsoft 365, Intranet and Internet and standard Health Service applications, including but not limited to TRIM, Health Roster, StaffLink, ROB and Oracle.
* Excellent organisational skills and experience in servicing committees, including organisation of meetings, preparation of agendas and recording of minutes.
* Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
