About the role
We are seeking an experienced Chef to join our team at The Bush Inn in New Norfolk, Tasmania. We are in a unique position to be able to tailor a role to suit the succesful applicant. We can offer a 4 day working week and attractive salary for a FT sous chef that has the appropriate skills and kitchen management experience. Alternatively, we have positions available for casual, PT or FT
Candidates must have Australian work rights to be eligible for this position.
What you'll be doing
* Overseeing all aspects of meal preparation, from menu planning to final plating
* Managing and training a team of passionate kitchen staff
* Ensuring strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations
* Developing innovative dishes that showcase our local produce
* Collaborating with our front-of-house team to deliver exceptional customer service
* Maintaining accurate inventory and ordering supplies as needed
* Contributing to the continuous improvement of our kitchen operations
What we're looking for
* Minimum 2 years' experience as a Chef/Cook in a restaurant (grill/steak experience essential)
* Proven track record of creating visually appealing and flavourful dishes
* Exceptional time management and multitasking abilities
* Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Passion for using fresh, locally sourced ingredients
* Flexible and able to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
