We are seeking a commercially driven and analytical Senior Planner to lead planning strategy across our shoe products. This is a pivotal role responsible for maximising sales, margin, and inventory performance while partnering closely with Buying and Retail teams.
This is a full-time office based role working from our Cremorne office.
The Role
Managing a small team of direct reports, we are seeking a highly analytical and experienced Senior Planner with a strong logistics background to join our team and lead planning initiatives that drive efficiency, cost optimisation, and service performance.
As Senior Planner, you will own the end-to-end merchandise planning process — from strategy through to in-season trade optimisation. You will play a critical role in shaping range frameworks, forecasting demand, and driving financial outcomes.
This role will be responsible for developing and executing integrated operational and logistics plans that align production, inventory, transportation, and demand requirements. This role requires strategic thinking, cross-functional coordination, and the ability to translate data into actionable plans.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain short, medium and long-term operational and supply plans.
* Own and manage seasonal merchandise plans by region, driving sales and stock turn.
* Develop detailed class plans including sales, stock, markdowns and margin.
* Conduct monthly forecast reviews and weekly unit flow analysis.
* Develop option plans and buy quantities aligned to strategy and OTB.
* Manage ratio analysis and adjust order quantities based on performance and store profiles.
* Build and maintain store grading and allocation grids by department.
* Present weekly performance and strategy recommendations at trading meetings.
* Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics activities with internal teams and external partners.
* Monitor freight costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
* Oversee inventory deployment across warehouses and distribution centres.
About You
You are a commercially astute planner with a passion for retail and a strong understanding of customer-led merchandising. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are confident influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
Skills & Experience
* 5+ years' experience in Merchandise Planning within retail (fashion/footwear preferred) and/or experience in supply chain or logistic roles.
* Strong financial acumen and advanced analytical skills.
* Proven experience managing OTB and inventory control.
* Proven experience in logistics coordination, transportation planning and inventory management.
* Advanced Excel skills (experience with planning systems highly regarded).
* Ability to translate data into actionable insights.
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
