* Permanent Part-time position based on 4 sites in Yugambeh Country on the Gold Coast
* $38.68ph - $48.47ph (depending on qualifications and experience)+ Super + Salary Packaging   
* Flexible Friendly organisation. This role requires travel to all Gold Coast sites.

About The Role

Child and Family Services Gold Coast provides services to families who have young children aged 0–8 years, with a parenting 'one stop shop' – somewhere they can access a range of support and services to improve their children's health, well-being and safety. Services include parenting programs, parent and child programs, playgroups, a variety of in-home support programs, volunteer programs as well as other support programs to help meet the community’s needs.

As a part of our Child Development Specialist team, you will support children and families to achieve their own goals and milestones. You will develop and facilitate child-centered, culturally sensitive and developmentally appropriate programs that meet the needs, interests and strengths of children (0-8) and families (attending our play programs, specialist groups and parenting programs.) You will work alongside our Child and Family Practitioners as well as our partner agencies to undertake assessments, identify strengths, increase capacity for resilience and promote positive family relationships.

Duties

o Plan, deliver and assess supported targeted and universal playgroups and parenting programs for families with children aged 0-5 years across Gold Coast sites – Coomera Springs, Labrador, Nerang and Coolangatta Early Years Place sites.
o Undertake short-term 1:1 work with families requiring additional supports within home environments, office and community settings to assist children to meet their developmental milestones.
o Attend team meetings, group supervision and professional development sessions and training to maintain and develop skill sets.
o Assist and contribute to community events run by the Gold Coast Early Years Place team.

Skills And Requirements

o Suitable qualifications such as Early Childhood Education, Social Sciences, Social Work or Psychology, with Experience in Early childhood being highly desirable.
o A commitment to play based approaches with a focus on building parent-child relationships to improve the long-term outcomes for children.
o Experience in working with and supporting vulnerable families to realise positive change.
o Understanding of child protection concerns and the impact of trauma on child behaviour and development.
o Great people skills and the ability to create strong working relationships with people from all walks of life.
