We are partnering with Ravenswood School to recruit their next HR Advisor. This person will partner closely with the Director of People and Culture to deliver practical HR solutions across the school. You'll provide expert guidance on employee relations, support leaders at all levels, and drive initiatives that strengthen engagement, culture, and teamwork. This is a hands-on role where your advice and ideas will help shape a positive and high-performing workplace
The Role:
* Partner with the Director of People and Culture on employee relations, helping them work through issues with confidence and clarity.
* Play a big part in a positive and supportive culture, with a focus on engagement, wellbeing and keeping teams connected.
* Ensure awards, agreements and legislation are applied properly, so processes are fair and consistent across the school.
* Step in to support or lead when it comes to investigations, conflict resolution and grievance matters – always with professionalism and care.
* Keep policies, procedures and contracts up to date and practical, not just compliant.
* Support leaders to lift their people management skills through coaching and guidance.
* Work closely with the Director of People and Culture on projects that improve the way HR supports the school.
* Oversee compliance reporting and workers' comp processes, including return-to-work plans, to ensure staff feel supported.
* Lend a hand in recruitment and onboarding, making sure new staff get a smooth and welcoming start.
* Keep an eye on workforce trends and share insights that help strengthen engagement, retention and culture.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Demonstrated experience in a senior human resources role
* Strong knowledge of HR practices, policies, and legislation
* Confident managing ER matters – conflict resolution, disciplinary processes, and investigations
* Skilled at coaching, guiding, and supporting managers
* Excellent communicator who builds strong relationships at all levels
* Practical approach to delivering HR solutions that work day-to-day
* Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Aligned with the values and ethos of a Uniting Church independent school
