Job Description
On behalf of our client, Tru Flo Pumps, we are advertising. Tru Flo Pumps are currently looking for enthusiastic and motivated Mechanical Fitters to join their high-performing team. The position is a full-time permanent opportunity based in Bathurst NSW, with the minimum weekly hours to be 38 hours and plenty of overtime available.
As a Mechanical Fitter at Truflo Pumps, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our pump systems, which are integral to mining operations. The primary purpose of this position is to assemble, disassemble report and Diagnosis, repair and reassemble mechanical components of dewatering pumps, contributing to the overall performance and longevity of our equipment. Ensuring a safe engaging workplace is nurtured through the engagement of our core values and behaviours.
Leading by example and openly communicating, celebrating positive behaviours and addressing behaviours that are not aligned with Truflo. Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Contribute towards continually improving the process in your work area.
Identifying improvement opportunities and discussing and implementing with your team leader.
- Strip and assess, complete report within 5 days of receipt.
- Liaise with Repair manager and Production manager for schedule of repair jobs.
- Diagnose strip and assess, inspecting every part for damage and wear.
- Diagnose how and what fault is occurring and why.
- Pick parts where required to complete repair.
- Liaise with parts picker for parts.
- Communicate to Team Leader regarding any part outages or requirements.
- Interrupt drawings
- Understand engineer measurements, micrometer, vernier calipers, depth gauges.
- Compile parts lists
- Check tolerances.
- Work to set tolerances.
- Liaise with Electrical fitter and Fitter machinist to complete repair jobs, providing clear communication of requirements and timelines where possible.
- Work within safety parameters to complete tasks and required jobs.
Being part of the safety solution.
- Support new builds as required.
- New assembly – Jumbo pumps, Varisco pumps sets, Doda pumps sets as required.
- Alignment and Coupling alignment.
- Stratquip assists with repairs.
- Field work as required, communication with customers.
- Keep the area clean and tidy.
- Willingness to travel and work onsite as per business requirements.
- Pressure wash pump sets when they are returned from being onsite.
- Disassemble mining pumps.
- Clean parts and report any damages or wear and tear.
- Order new parts as required and reassemble pump with new parts.
- Performance test repaired pumps to be sure that it performs to the manufacturer’s specifications.
- Welding brackets onto the pump bases to accommodate a change of pipework if required.
- Maintain standard of housekeeping ensuring work area is clean, tidy, and without trip or other hazards.
- OHS Responsibilities:
- Know and understand the Company’s Site Safety Management Plan
- Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with all OHS requirements.
- Follow Safe
Work Instructions at all times.
- Follow the company’s policies and procedures.
- Report all incidents.
- Ensure health and safety of self and others in the workplace is paramount.
Skill & Experience Required:
- Relevant Trade Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Ability to read drawings: job specification / instructions
- Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
- Forklift License (An Advantage)
- Valuable computer skills
