The Role 
The Environmental Division operates a modern commercial laboratory in Brisbane (Stafford) that’s equipped with the latest in analytical technology. We are seeking several experienced Laboratory Technicians to join our team that strives to exceed client expectations by delivering quality results on time and by maintaining strong relationships with their clients. Successful candidates may have just completed their Science Degree or TAFE Laboratory skills and are looking to utilise their practical laboratory experience in a working laboratory. These roles are fast paced and require you to work at speed with accuracy. Experience in hospitality where you have juggled multiple tasks and followed processes is desirable. 
Responsibilities 
- Preparation and analysis of soil, water, and sediment – weighing, digesting, titrating, or solvent extraction of samples 
- Ensuring that preparation and analytical procedures and associated tasks are conducted in accordance with ALS Quality Work Instructions 
- Organising designated tasks to maximise daily efficiencies 
- Completing all tasks within both the timeframe set by the Supervisor and the relevant analysis standard 
- Highlighting anomalies in results and sample type/behaviour 
Essentials 
- A genuine interest in the Science industry 
- Either TAFE or University qualifications 
- A desire to work in a high-throughput, client-focused environment, with preference given to those with previous commercial laboratory experience 
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational and time management skills 
- Dedication to good laboratory practices with regard to quality of results and health and safety 
- Flexibility to work public holidays and weekend shifts if required 
- Willingness to be cross trained in other sections of the laboratory 
- Dedication to go the extra mile, be solutions driven and ensure there is no compromise on quality
