Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional, personalised service with professionalism and a genuine "can do" attitude, ensuring every guest feels valued and delighted.
- Support the smooth and efficient operation of your kitchen section, maintaining impeccable standards of quality, presentation, and cleanliness.
- Prepare, cook, and plate menu items with precision and artistry, following Sofitel’s F&B; brand standards and established recipe cards.
- Assist senior chefs — from the Chef de Partie to the Executive Chef — in creating culinary excellence and ensuring service runs seamlessly.
- Demonstrate sound knowledge of all basic cooking methods, including meats, seafood, starches, fruits, vegetables, and desserts.
- Maintain a clean, organised workstation and uphold the highest standards of hygiene, food safety, and cross‑contamination prevention.
- Communicate effectively with other departments, fostering strong teamwork and collaboration.
- Contribute to departmental goals, ensuring service and brand standards are consistently achieved.
- Support menu preparation and ensure sufficient mise en place for each service period.
- Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
Qualifications
- Certificate or Diploma in Commercial Cookery, ready to put your skills into action.
- 1–2 years in a similar role, ideally in a fast‑paced, high‑volume, or banquet environment.
- Confidently collaborate with your kitchen brigade and share your passion for excellence.
- Always present yourself with pride, reflecting the elegance and standards of the Sofitel brand.
- Thrive on a rotating roster that includes weekends and public holidays.
- Bring creativity, flair, and a love for delivering unique and memorable dining experiences.
- Solid understanding of HACCP and food safety standards, ensuring every dish is secure and impeccable.
- Ability to stay focused, efficient, and precise, even in the busiest of service periods.
