The Role
Livingstone Shire council is recruiting for a permanent full time skilled trade qualified Carpenter to join Council’s Facilities Management team. This role reports to the Supervisor Facilities Maintenance and involves performing a variety of carpentry tasks, including construction, maintenance, and repairs of Council assets. Successful candidates will work on minor capital building projects and maintenance activities, ensuring high standards of workmanship and safety at all times. Candidates will be required to demonstrate how their experience meets the position responsibilities and requirements as outlined in the position description.
Candidates are required to have sound knowledge of carpentry methods related to project construction and able to demonstrate their knowledge of current building codes and work health and safety legislation. Our carpenters play a key role in promoting safety at work, and leading by example through safe work practices, sharing safety experiences and reporting.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Certificate III in Carpentry (Trade Certificate) and experience undertaking a range of carpentry and building construction tasks including maintenance activities on various assets and operations relation to the position.
- Possess and maintain a Construction Induction (White Card).
- Possess and maintain a current motor vehicle drivers licence.
- Possess or have the ability to obtain a Working at Heights Certificate.
- Possess or have the ability to obtain First Aid Certification.
