Position Information
Bligh Park Public School is a NSW Department of Education (DoE) primary school situated on the land of the Darug People. The school is part of the South Creek Principal Network in the Metropolitan North Operational Directorate. Bligh Park Public School has 25 teaching staff and an enrolment of 285 students, 51 of whom identify as Aboriginal. There are 10 mainstream classes and 7 support unit classes. The school is supported by the P&C and enjoys strong relationships with the community. Bligh Park Public School provides opportunities in sport and the performing arts, and students focus on being safe, respectful and responsible learners.
Specific Selection Criteria
* Approval to teach special education and/or experience or willingness to teach students in a primary setting with a variety of disabilities, including autism and intellectual disabilities.
* Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a collaborative team and build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, external agencies, and members of the wider community.
* Ability to develop and deliver differentiated learning experiences for students with complex learning needs, with a focus on improving student outcomes.
* Effective use of classroom behaviour management strategies that enhance student engagement, support the development of social and communication skills, and cater to sensory needs.
