About us:
The Rockhampton Finance Department is responsible for managing the financial operations of the hospital, including budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, and ensuring efficient allocation of resources. It oversees billing processes, financial compliance, and supports strategic financial planning to ensure the hospital's financial sustainability and optimal delivery of healthcare services. The department works closely with other hospital departments to maintain accurate financial records and facilitate effective financial decision-making.
About the role:
* This role is part of the Financial Accounting team, reporting to the Manager Financial Accounting, the Financial Accountant (Assets) will be responsible for coordinating the asset accounting for Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service.
* The Financial Accountant (Assets) will support the Service to achieve corporate goals by the provision of timely and quality information, expert financial compliance and accounting advice, reviews and planning in relation to CQ Health fixed assets. The role will play a significant part in the development and delivery of strategic asset management plans, short- and long-term capital budget planning, comprehensive evaluations, and the coordination of monthly and annual asset processes and reporting.
* The role is also responsible for ensuring policies and procedures are up to date, adherence to policy and financial delegations, appropriate recognition of asset versus expense, preparation of fixed asset movement schedule, review of stock movements and reporting of write-offs and obsolete stock.
About you:
* While not mandatory a degree in accounting or equivalent is highly desirable for this
o A Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) / Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is highly
o Whilst this position has a preferred location of Rockhampton a remote working with Queensland arrangement may be negotiated for a suitable experienced candidate.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $148,323 p.a. is comprised of:
* An hourly rate between $61.20 - $65.56 p.h.
* 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
