* Infection Control to join our team at the Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network (LHN), based in the picturesque Barossa region. The aim of this pivotal role is to improve patient outcomes through the education and assessment of clinical staff in correct infection prevention and control practices across acute and residential aged care facilities. You will enhance communication regarding optimal infection control practices throughout the LHN, collaborating with site Infection Control Nurses and the Nurse Unit Manager for Infection Control to deliver targeted education and auditing programs. Your primary responsibilities will include:
* Educating clinical staff in aseptic technique, utilising state-wide educational and audit tools.
* Assisting in the annual auditing of clinical staff's application of aseptic technique.
* Providing education and assessment of new staff on donning and doffing personal protective equipment (including N95 mask fit testing) for standard and transmission-based precautions.
* Implementing all elements of a hand hygiene program to achieve sustainability.
* Promoting practices for prevention and control of multi-resistant organisms and Antimicrobial Stewardship.
