You will engage in very complex problem solving and issues management and may coordinate and perform detailed and sensitive projects that impact on strategic, political or operational outcomes of Defence.
You will be required to coach and lead a team and be accountable for the outcomes of the teams work and the appropriate use of resources to produce and achieve outcomes. You will be capable of building teams capability through coaching and feedback and reviewing and developing the quality of work undertaken by others within a work unit.
You will be responsible for actively managing key stakeholder relationships and will be required to identify relevant stakeholders' expectations and concerns to develop and communicate methodologies and practices to achieve outcomes.
Note:
(1) Travel to attend Defence trials and tests (both within Victoria and interstate) is a requirement of this position.
(2) Attendance at Defence trails and tests is field work conducted in all weather conditions and will at times involve working at heights and working in confined spaces so you must be capable of handling the physical requirements of the role (for example, capable of mounting camera equipment in confined spaces within vehicles).

The Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) is an integral part of the Department of Defence. This group procures and maintains military equipment and supplies in the quantities and to the service levels that are required by Defence and approved by Government. The right person for the EL1 Multimedia Specialist role will be an experienced photography professional and team leader.
- Hold a photography qualification (highly desirable),
- Have considerable experience in the utilisation of both multimedia communication and traditional imaging techniques including visual capture of data (both studio based and in the field); high-speed imaging set-up, capture and post-production; and graphic design and production,
- Have sound decision making, problem solving and stakeholder engagement skills,
- Have experience leading, managing and mentoring teams with a proven track record of delivering outcomes in accordance with critical timelines, and
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
