The Role
We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join and lead a friendly and dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced, creative environment focused on delivering high-quality cuisine with exceptional presentation and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and support the kitchen team to consistently deliver exceptional results.
* Oversee and actively participate in the preparation and cooking of food and dishes for dine-in and takeaway services.
* Assist in planning and developing menus and calculating food quantities and associated costs.
* Manage the costing, budgeting, ordering of food and kitchen supplies.
* Monitor food quality, presentation and portion control, ensuring only the freshest, locally sourced ingredients are used.
* Assist in the hiring, onboarding, rostering and training of new kitchen staff.
* Monitor and maintain kitchen hygiene, storage and food handling standards.
* Adhere to OH&S and Food Safety regulations.
What We Are Looking For
* Relevant qualification, such as a Diploma of Hospitality Management - Commercial Cookery (or agreed equivalent).
* Minimum of 3 years (preferably more) experience as a Chef in a busy restaurant (preferably in Indian cuisine).
* Experience in managing a team in a fast-paced environment, whilst maintaining high standards and morale.
* Understanding of costing, portioning and kitchen management.
* Knowledge of OH&S and Food Safety regulations.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* A great work ethic and a drive to make a lasting impact.
* Available to work across weekdays and weekends.
* You must have unrestricted working rights to work full time in Australia to be eligible for consideration.
