Business Support Officer – Cultural Venues
Williamstown location, close to public transport. Permanent part‐time position, 0.8 FTE. Salary: Band 4 $70,491.03 – $75,712.42 pro‐rata + superannuation.
The opportunity
In this people‐focused administration role supporting Hobsons Bay City Council's cultural venues, the Business Support Officer plays a vital role in coordinating bookings, supporting venue operations and delivering high‐quality customer service to hirers, patrons and community groups. This position is based primarily at the Williamstown Town Hall and may require occasional weekend or after‐hours availability in support of venue operations.
What you'll be doing
* Providing high‐quality administrative and operational support to cultural venues.
* Managing venue bookings, correspondence, payments, bonds and refunds.
* Maintaining accurate records, registers, financial transactions and reporting.
* Liaising with hirers, suppliers, staff and contractors to support venue operations.
* Supporting customer service, box‐office activities and casual staff on site.
What you'll need to succeed
* Experience in administration, business or operations support (arts/events preferred).
* Strong organisation, attention to detail and time management skills.
* Clear written and verbal communication with diverse customers and stakeholders.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
* Understanding of venue operations, booking systems and customer service standards.
