Commercial Manager - Genuine Senior Leadership Opportunity at Bluestone Recruitment. Our client is a privately-owned, mid-tier construction firm operating across multiple states. They are committed to delivering certainty, quality, and outstanding outcomes for their clients, with project experience across retail, education, industrial, and commercial sectors.
The role is a strategic senior leadership position reporting directly to the General Manager. Acting as their 2IC, you will shape the business strategy and support the continued growth of the Queensland (QLD) business unit.
Responsibilities
- Leading contract negotiations, procurement strategies, and subcontractor agreements
- Identifying and driving business development and strategic growth opportunities in the market
- Managing budgets, forecasting, and cost reporting across the project portfolio
- Overseeing variation management, claims resolution, and contract risk mitigation
- Providing commercial insight and strategic advice to project and executive teams
- Ensuring compliance with relevant quality, safety, and financial standards
- Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders
- Mentoring, developing, and supporting commercial staff to achieve their full potential
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of commercial leadership experience within the commercial construction sector
- Proven ability to manage P&L;, negotiate contracts, assess risk, and implement commercial strategies
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to influence project and client outcomes
- Highly organised, commercially astute, and focused on margin protection and delivery excellence
