Principal E2E Systems Engineer

Salary range: $149,739 – $173,174 + superannuation & leave loading
Duration: Ongoing
Location: Hybrid with in‑office requirement on Tuesdays and Thursdays across NSW offices (subject to change as per DCS workplace policies).
Drive the architectural vision for NSW's mission‑critical Public Safety Network by leading end‑to‑end integration across radio, transport, core, applications and cybersecurity systems.

Your responsibilities will include
* Leading technical design and integration across radio, transport, core, applications, cybersecurity and monitoring subsystems.
* Providing architectural authority to ensure consistency and standardisation across multiple vendors and technologies.
* Driving technical governance to optimise lifecycle cost‑effectiveness and avoid vendor lock‑in.
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with emergency services organisations as a trusted advisor.
* Engaging with stakeholders—PMO, engineers, vendors and contractors—to resolve technical issues.
* Overseeing troubleshooting, incident management and escalation for complex technical challenges.
To be successful in this role you will
* Obtain and retain baseline security clearance within six months.
* Lead end‑to‑end integration, orchestrating complex subsystems into a seamless, resilient solution.
* Set architectural standards, providing technical authority and governance across diverse technologies.
* Optimise for lifecycle value, balancing immediate delivery with long‑term cost‑effectiveness.
* Influence stakeholders at all levels, translating intricate designs into clear, actionable strategies.
* Champion interoperability, ensuring solutions meet stringent mission‑critical emergency communications requirements.
While the following isn't essential it may set you apart
* Bring specialist knowledge in P25 networks and critical communications to guide design and troubleshooting decisions.

NSW Telco Authority (NSWTA) operates and manages the Public Safety Network, delivering radio communications for frontline responders. We work with emergency services and telecommunications carriers to protect communications assets during emergencies and natural disasters.
