Happy New Year We are starting 2026 by looking for a Senior Frontend Developer to join our client, who are a technology consultancy focused on building world-class digital platforms and mobile applications. In this role, the Senior Frontend Developer will lead critical components of a project focused on developing a new public sector digital platform. We are looking for a specialist in React who has mastered TypeScript.
About the role
The Senior Frontend Developer will lead the development of responsive, accessible, and intuitive user interfaces using React and TypeScript. They will define frontend architecture, component libraries, and state management patterns to ensure long-term maintainability, whilst seamlessly integrating with backend APIs to deliver a smooth and secure end-user experience. This role requires architectural maturity, a commitment to security, and the ability to mentor others in a high-trust environment.
The team will rely on you to:
* Utilise TypeScript as the primary language to drive consistency, type safety, and code quality across the codebase.
* Commit to continuous delivery while mentoring mid-level engineers, conducting code reviews, and elevating engineering standards.
* Champion automated testing, clean code principles, and secure development practices relevant to handling sensitive data.
* Actively drive team planning, provide authoritative technical feedback, and work as a reliable technical anchor.
Ideally you have:
* Expert Proficiency in TypeScript and React.
* Proven track record of architecting and building reliable, secure applications in enterprise or public sector environments.
* Strong experience with broader stack technologies, specifically PostgreSQL for data persistence and AWS for cloud infrastructure.
* Demonstrated commitment to security, reliability, and data governance when working with sensitive, real-world data.
* Excellent, confident communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to stakeholders and peers.
Bonus points if you also have:
* Experience with modern frontend tooling and frameworks such as Vite, Remix, React Query (TanStack), Playwright, or Tailwind CSS.
* Experience in secure development practices or compliance standards relevant to handling PII.
