The Opportunity
Electrical and instrumentation (E&I) professionals ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment – work that is essential to keep operations running. Our four-year E&I apprenticeship gives you specialist skills development and hands-on experience in a busy plant environment whilst completing your Certificate III in Engineering (Industrial Electrician) which leads to your Certificate IV in Engineering (Instrumentation).
Working across our Ammonia & Ammonium Nitrate and Sodium Cyanide production facilities in Kwinana you will be mentored by experienced tradespeople who are keen to share their knowledge and support your career development.
Skilled E&I professionals install, service and troubleshoot issues with equipment, as an apprentice your day-to-day duties will include
* Assisting in the installation, maintenance, and calibration of electrical and instrumentation systems.
* Learning to interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
* Supporting fault-finding and troubleshooting activities.
* Gaining hands-on experience with control systems, sensors, and automation equipment.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have
* A demonstrated commitment to studying and training.
* Good communication and teamwork abilities.
* Valid driver's licence or working towards obtaining your driver's licence.
* Successfully completed Year 12 and/or currently completing or have completed a pre-apprenticeship (pre-apprenticeships are favourable but not essential).
* A genuine interest in electrical and instrumentation work.
* Willingness to learn and grow within a supportive team.
* The commitment to prioritising your safety, and the safety of others in all practices, including understanding safe work practices in a workshop.
* Confidence to work at heights and in confined spaces (permitted once the appropriate training and approvals are obtained).
