Your new company
A large, well‑established state government organisation on the Sunshine Coast is seeking an experienced Graphic Designer to join their busy communications and design team. This is a full‑time temporary assignment based onsite at their Maroochydore office, working standard business hours Monday to Friday.
Your new role
You'll be the go‑to person for delivering creative and visually polished work across the business. Working within a compact team, you'll collaborate through Asana, where most briefs, updates and project communication are managed.
Core tasks include:
Creative & Design Delivery
Crafting clear, engaging and visually cohesive design solutions that support program objectives
Producing a wide range of collateral including reports, maps, newsletters, displays, social content, presentations and campaign materials
Translating detailed or technical content into easy‑to‑understand visuals
Ensuring all creative output aligns with established brand direction and quality standards
Staying informed about new design practices, technologies and industry trends
Stakeholder & Team Collaboration
Working closely with internal clients and project teams to understand their goals and guide them on visual communication approaches
Providing advice on branding, asset development and design best practice
Helping improve design processes and contributing to shared standards across the broader design function
Working with external suppliers when required (printers, illustrators, photographers, videographers, etc.) to ensure consistent, high‑quality delivery
Workflow & Project Coordination
Working closely with internal clients and project teams to understand their goals and guide them on visual communication approaches
Managing multiple concurrent projects through Asana, ensuring tasks are well tracked and delivered on time
Balancing shifting priorities and deadlines in a busy environment
Maintaining a customer‑focused approach, ensuring all outputs are accurate, polished and delivered within scope
What you'll need to succeed
At least five years' experience in graphic, digital or visual design
Tertiary qualification in Graphic Design or equivalent experience
Strong capability across Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro)
Proven ability to produce creative work for medium to large organisations
Comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast‑paced setting
Able to work independently while contributing to a small, collaborative team
Excellent attention to detail and strong time‑management skills
Experience working with structured brand guidelines
Desirable:
Understanding of WCAG accessibility requirements
Experience using project/workflow tools such as Asana
Knowledge of Queensland Government processes
Additional creative capability in videography or animation
