Strategic Mine Planning and Infrastructure Specialist
This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including strategic and technical mine planning for the 2-8 year horizon.
You will develop and implement infrastructure demand models to optimize capital project requirements, justify capital expenditure using established frameworks, and improve capital efficiency.
In addition, you will educate and coach personnel across technical and project teams to enhance their understanding of mine services systems, support integration and optimization of operations, and consult on long-term planning processes with a focus on safety, schedule, reliability, and costs.
The role involves focusing on understanding and supporting mine long-term planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
You will leverage your expertise and industry connections to introduce new technologies and ways of working to improve safety and productivity.
Project management of packages of work as required to support studies is also part of this role.
Liaising between stakeholders to support integrated mine planning and integration of associated planning and schedule software are key responsibilities.
Key Requirements:
* Mining Engineering degree or similar;
* Extensive experience in underground mine planning and operations across various mining methods and projects;
* Experience in mine or project scheduling is highly desirable;
* Experience in mine ventilation and design software platforms (VentSim, Deswik, MS Office);
* Ability to interpret limited measured / monitoring data, identify potential issues and causes of change, and develop processes to validate assumptions;
* Able to develop preferred and alternate mine infrastructure strategies, identify and escalate potential risks and mitigating actions;
* Excellent communication skills including the ability to influence others, communicate complex concepts, and document clearly and concisely;
* Ability to work collaboratively across different work groups and proactively engage with a range of stakeholders including senior levels of management;
* Experience in Lean Six Sigma and Theory of Constraints will be advantageous;
* Previous experience delivering studies through to operations readiness and execution advantageous;
* CuSA experience will be advantageous;
* Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems with minimal direction; and
* Strong ability to develop own work plan and adapt to change.
