Salary: $94,451 pa + Incidental Allowance + Leave Loading + Superannuation
Your role
Lead with Purpose and Make a Difference
Guide and mentor inmates as part of a dynamic team, helping them build practical skills and confidence for life beyond correctional facilities. Oversee daily operations to drive productivity and excellence while ensuring safety, quality, and outstanding service standards.
What you’ll do
* Supervise, coach, train, and instruct inmates to develop practical work skills, enhancing their post-release employment opportunities and reducing the risk of re-offending.
* Act as a positive role model by demonstrating personal values such as honesty, ethics, and integrity that align with CSI and broader social values.
* Contribute to business unit operations through the delivery of work-related inmate training, including the implementation of Inmate Traineeships.
* Provide detailed input for case management reporting as part of the Work Readiness Program.
* Manage resources effectively and efficiently to achieve planned outcomes.
* Create and maintain a safe working environment for staff, contractors, inmates, and visitors in compliance with Work Health & Safety legislation.
What we’re looking for
Qualifications Required:
* Certificate III in Correctional Practice (or willingness to complete within 12 months).
* A current NSW Driver Licence and readiness to drive as part of your role.
* Trade qualifications at a minimum Certificate III level in one or more of the following areas: Carpentry (Building/Construction), Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, Fitting & Turning/Machining, Welding/Boilermaking, Printing (including Print/Cut UV-LED Printer experience), Flexographic, Offset or Digital Printing, Graphic Design, Horticulture, Landscaping, Baking, Commercial Cookery, or Laundry Operations.
* A forklift licence is desirable but not essential.
Essential Requirements:
* Proven post-trade experience
* Proven ability to meet key accountabilities and focus capabilities outlined in the Overseer role description.
* Flexibility and willingness to work across multiple trades as required.
* Availability to participate in an ‘on-call’ rotational roster.
