Exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse - Clinical Coach to join the Department of Health
The Team:
The Mental Health Inpatient Unit (MHIU) is located in the Royal Hobart Hospital, level 2 and 3K West. MHIU sits under the Mental Health Department (MHD) within the Statewide Mental Health Services' Acute Care Stream and supports adults with serious mental illness across multiple locations, serving southern Tasmania and those best suited to its services.
The Clinical Coach role:
Coaches and supervises novice clinicians to build confidence and competence in acute inpatient mental health care.
Promotes safe, evidence-based, and quality clinical practice.
Provides feedback to novices against organisational and best practice standards.
Collaborates with education and clinical teams to support learning and development goals.
You will need
* Demonstrated ability to provide clinical leadership to support the nursing management team, and to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
* Demonstrated ability to apply clinical knowledge, skills, problem solving and critical thinking to provide nursing care.
* Proven interpersonal, verbal, and non‑verbal communication skills, and the ability to provide positive and constructive feedback to novices.

Details of appointment:
Permanent, full time, shift worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $102,439 to $109,175 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
Minimum of 4 years clinical experience in the relevant practice setting.
Relevant postgraduate qualifications appropriate to the clinical area.
Membership with the relevant professional organisation (e.g.: Australian College of Nursing, Australian College of Midwives, ACORN, ACCCN).
