Job Title: Health and Safety Officer
The Key Responsibilities of this role include:
* Conducting site safety inspections to identify potential hazards and take corrective action.
* Investigating injuries and incidents, providing recommendations for improvement.
* Maintaining and reviewing health and safety documentation, including the development of management plans and SWMS.
* Reporting on health and safety issues and statistics to relevant stakeholders.
* Providing support for compliance with legislation, policies, and standards.
* Assisting with employee inductions, training, and education on their rights and obligations under relevant safety legislation.
* Supporting internal audits and developing action plans to address areas for improvement.
As a Health and Safety Officer, you will play a critical role in promoting a positive safety culture within the organization. This includes:
* Partnering with Site Managers to develop and implement effective health and safety systems and strategies.
* Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
* Providing expert advice and guidance on health and safety matters to employees at all levels.

Key Requirements:
* Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety/OHS or equivalent qualification.
* Current drivers' license.
* Good understanding of Work Health and Safety Legislation and codes of practice.
* Experience in health and safety, preferably in a blue-collar industry; mining or quarrying experience highly desirable.
* Operating knowledge of heavy plant and equipment.
* Working knowledge of acts, regulations, codes of practice, and standards.
* Intermediate computer literacy.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
