About Us Linear Clinical Research Ltd is an internationally recognised, not-for-profit clinical research site. Founded by the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research (Perkins), Linear has Western Australia’s only dedicated early phase clinical trials facilities located in Nedlands and Joondalup where we focus on early phase clinical trials across a broad range of therapeutic areas. Our Medical team are now looking for a Medical Officer to join the team on a full-time basis for 12 months in the first instance with the possibility of extension according to business growth. Your Role in Our Future Working alongside a multi-disciplinary team, you will play a critical role in the execution and safe delivery of clinical trials and be responsible for providing expert medical input and care to all participants. Your expertise, knowledge and skills are highly valued as you closely monitor participant safety, adverse events and clinical data. Some of your duties in this role will include; Collaborate with the recruitment and screening teams to identify and screen appropriate participants for specific trials who meet all inclusion criteria. Conduct medical assessments and clinical observations ensuring participant safety and well-being at all times during clinical trial activity. Maintain appropriate knowledge of study protocols and awareness of progress across all studies. Work with the senior medical team in the management and recording of adverse events in line with study protocols and Good Clinical Practice requirements. The working hours are generally within regular office hours, and you will be afforded the flexibility to maintain a comfortable work-life balance. There will be occasional short weekend and on-call duties, usually once a month. Your Experience Are you thinking, “I don’t have any previous experience in clinical trials”? Whilst that would be helpful, it’s not essential as we find that true enthusiasm, a growth mindset and willingness to learn can be equally valuable. You will receive on-the-job training so that you can quickly learn how to work in clinical trials, even without any prior knowledge or experience. Here are the things we think make you ideal for this role: A medical degree and current Medical Practitioner registration with AHPRA. Previous clinical research experience will be looked on favourably, but is not necessary, as full on-the-job orientation and training will be provided Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary team (which includes clinical and non-clinical staff). You’ll be required to be up to date with all your vaccinations as this a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, MRSA, TB and Pertussis.
