Role Overview
As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in the daily lives of our residents. You will provide direct care and support to individuals with varying levels of disabilities, assisting them with daily activities, personal care, and medication. This role requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our residents, promoting their independence, and ensuring their safety and well‐being.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including the use of hoists and other manual handling equipment.
- Support residents in their daily activities and routines.
- Administer medication as prescribed and document accordingly.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding as needed.
- Encourage and facilitate participation in community activities and social events.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of care provided.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure a secure and supportive environment.
Requirements
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in a similar role within a disability, SIL, or aged care setting is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of manual handling principles and experience with hoists and other equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transport.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working With Children Check (WWCC), and National Police Check.
- Experience: 1 year in Disability Support Work (preferred).
- Experience: 1 year in Manual Handling (preferred).
