Mechanical Fitter Role Summary
This position involves undertaking preventative and breakdown maintenance, ensuring health and safety procedures are followed.
* Planned preventative and reactive breakdown maintenance tasks will be undertaken.
* Established health and safety protocols must be adhered to at all times.
* The individual will identify and coordinate preventative maintenance across the site proactively.
* Technical support and training for machine operators on basic troubleshooting will be provided.
* Plant or equipment deficiencies leading to out-of-spec finished goods will be investigated.
* Ensuring adherence to BRC and other customer standards is also a key responsibility.
About You
* A Mechanical Fitter Trade or equivalent qualification is required.
* Sound knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatic systems is essential.
* Ability to read and understand schematic diagrams and interpret machinery manuals is necessary.
* Effective communication skills in speaking with cross-functional teams and writing work order reports are crucial.
* Bonus points for knowledge of basic electrical systems and components.
* Possession of welding, turning, sheet metal fabrication qualifications and skills is highly regarded.
* Flexibility to work either day or afternoon shift – 76 hours per fortnight, on a rotating roster.
