About This Role
Our client is a leading energy producer with a strong focus on safe, efficient delivery of onshore gas developments in Australia.
Provide operational geology support during drilling activities, including real-time monitoring and interpretation of wellsite data
Supervise and coordinate mudlogging, coring, wireline logging, and subsurface data acquisition
Deliver geosteering expertise for horizontal wells to ensure wellbore placement within reservoir targets
Provide subsurface input into well delivery process control points
Manage subsurface process safety requirements, including formation tops, H₂S prediction, geohazards, and subsurface emergency response data
Prepare and deliver regulatory and compliance documentation, including well proposals and well completion reports
Support contract management activities where required
Liaise with regulatory, permitting, and internal technical teams to provide subsurface expertise
Ensure accurate documentation, data management, and accountability for well information
Maintain strong communication and collaboration with operations geology and wells teams
Requirements
Degree in Geoscience or related discipline
Extensive experience in wellsite geology and directional drilling operations
Demonstrated drilling experience, including HSSE-critical activities in high-pressure environments
Bowen Basin tight gas sands experience highly regarded
Strong ability to influence stakeholders and support sound operational decision-making
Proven capability to manage multiple internal interfaces across project teams
High-level interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Strong planning, organisation, and documentation skills
Experience coaching, mentoring, and delivering outcomes through collaboration
