About the roleVictoria Legal Aid (VLA) is seeking a family lawyer to join our Mildura office and deliver high-quality legal services and make a meaningful difference in the Mallee region.
In this role, you will provide high-quality legal services across family violence, family law and/or child protection. You will act as an advocate, deliver casework, and offer legal advice to clients, making a meaningful impact in the community.
Relocation support may be available for suitable applicants moving to Mildura. Mildura offers affordable housing, a strong community and access to the Murray River and surrounding parks.
This role is based at our Mildura office on Latji Latji, Barkindji, and Paakantji Country.
About YouAs Our Ideal Candidate, You Will Possess
A proven ability to act as an advocate, deliver legal advice, and conduct casework in family violence, family law, and/or child protection.Knowledge or practical experience in relevant law and procedure, particularly in family violence, family law, and/or child protection.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, staff, and external stakeholders.A current Australian practising certificate which entitles you to practise in Victoria as a government legal practitioner (mandatory).Entitled to practise in federal courts and courts exercising federal jurisdiction (entry on the High Court's Register of Practitioners).
